There is one thing at least that the Detroit Tigers have proven that they do fairly well over the past 7 seasons. They have been able to get their sticks going against lefties in their home ball park. Last season, Detroit won 10 of 14 against teams outside their division when facing a lefty in their home park, and detroit news they won 16 of 26 games overall against non-division teams throwing lefties at them.

Detroit has made some progress over the last few years, but the Tigers aren t showing any signs of making major moves with in the division. They totaled just 55 wins in 2002 and detroit news dropped to a pathetic 43 victories in 2003, but they improved nearly 30 games, winning 72 in 2004. They were unable to build on their 72 win campaign last season as they plateaued, reaching just 71 victories.

As you might expect based on their success against lefties, you should strongly consider going against the Tigers when they are facing righties as they were just 48-70 in 2005.

Despite another disappointing season, Detroit actually finished 15 games ahead of last place Kansas City. They do boast the best catcher in the league in Ivan Rodriguez, but they lack a complimentary pitcher. Although, their left handers, such as Kenny Rogers, may have some success within the division as Chicago and detroit news Cleveland have both had trouble with lefties. Sluggers Ordonez and detroit news Young should have decent seasons for the Tigers at the plate. All in all, I can t be too optimistic. They ll be competing with Kansas City for second to last place in the division.

Best Game: Pistons @ Pacers: After finally getting Peja, Indiana loses O Neal for 8 weeks. The Pacers will make the playoffs but they will have trouble getting a high seed with the luck they have had. Destiny isn t exactly on their side like it has been for Detroit. The Pistons are injury free and detroit news are on pace (regardless if it will happen or not) for 70 wins. Stephen Jackson will get 30+ in the box score. Detroit should probably win today on the road.

Runner-up Game: Bulls @ Suns: Two of the best passing teams face off. Chicago is interesting in that they have the potential to be either a defensive or offensive squad. Without Curry their inside presence is close to null. But with Amare Stoudamire out they get a reprieve. This game will likely go over.

Blowout Game: Celtics @ Magic: For whatever reason, these two have been responsible for some ugly games lately. Boston has done very well against the Magic in the post-Hardaway era. Whoever has the duty to guard Paul Pierce has to play phenomenal defense otherwise it s all over. Another predicted road blowout winner today as the Boston Celtics take it to these Orlando Magic.
